Kaye E. Burnside



Biographical Info

Dr. Kaye E. Burnside joined the Richmond Community Foundation Board in August 2017. She currently serves on the grant and literacy committees. In addition to an extensive background in servant leadership (including teacher, principal, UC Berkeley administrator, deputy superintendent, and superintendent); she served on numerous educational and grant funding boards. Dr. Burnside received educational and leadership training from numerous entities including the Annenberg and Stupsky Foundations, Harvard University, and the US Department of Education. She served on the Proposition 10 Commission (First Five in Contra Costa County), and was recognized by Representative George Miller and Governor Pete Wilson for her contributions to educational improvements at Washington School in Point Richmond (for which she credits collaboration with an outstanding staff and community). Her contributions are also recognized in the Congressional Records. Dr. Burnside was awarded Woman of the Year from the State of California, and earned her bachelors and masters degrees from Eastern Michigan University and her doctorate degree from Saint Mary’s College.
