Richmond Community Foundation (RCF) would like to invite you to participate in its 8th Annual Northern California Summit on Children and Youth. Last year, RCF partnered for the first time with the West Contra Costa Unified School District to present the Summit, Building the Next Generation Workforce, which featured a career fair for students and teachers, the ideal way to incorporate participation from the target population, underserved youth and students of color.
Last year’s Summit included inspiring speakers and presentations from programs throughout the Bay Area, as well as roundtable discussions that tackled challenges and opportunities. These roundtables provided recommendations and strategies to ensure that our communities are ready to fill the employment opportunities available in our region in coming years. In addition to presenting workforce programs that actively train and develop young people for careers, the Summit explored academic, vocational, training and mentoring programs targeting underserved youth, and community college students. Last year’s summit provided an excellent foundation on which to continue to build collaborative and coordinated programs and strategies that will ensure our community’s most underserved have access to training and jobs in the future.
The event is scheduled for May 10, 2017 and will take place at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium. We are seeking your support for this critical event that has significant regional implications.
To become a sponsor, please feel free to contact me or Chief Development Officer, Stacey Street at (510) 234-1200, or by email at jbecker@richmondcf.org or sstreet@richmondcf.org. Thank you in advance for your support.
