The Fouché Foundation offers financial assistance to individuals in the community with a vision and determination to pursue a vocation through Training/Specific Skills Programs, College, or Entrepreneurial Ventures. Menbe’s Way Fund
To “Menbe,” owner of Saluté e Vita Ristorante, and Richmond Community Foundation Board member, giving back to her community is an essential part of who she is. This inspiring business leader was honored with the prestigious Jefferson Award for her outstanding achievements in public service – in part for her annual Thanksgiving Dinners for the Needy. Richmond Community Mayor’s Fund
Richmond Mayor Tom Butt re-launched the Mayor’s Community Fund in 2015 to support community needs not otherwise met by the City or other funders. The Richmond Mayor’s Community Fund is currently accepting grant applications for 2018. These grants will be given solely to youth sports teams and leagues in Richmond, California. LEARN MORE…
Peter and Marcella Sedor Fund
This fund was established in memory of Peter and Marcella Sedor by their grandchildren. Peter and Marcella Sedor lived in Glen Lyon, Pennsylvania, the children of Ukranian and Polish immigrants. Peter left school at 4th grade to work in the anthracite coal mines as a breaker boy, pulling rocks out of the coal crusher so that the rocks would not damage the machinery in the crusher. Marcella left school to support her family, and began work in 11th grade. Despite the fact that neither was a high school graduate, they made certain that their three daughters, Marie, Judith and Marcella, were educated and had the chance to attend and complete college. Peter and Marcella valued education so deeply that they even saved up enough money to ensure that each of their 10 grandchildren had money for college. Despite having little formal education, Peter Sedor was elected to the local school board, serving several terms as its chair. LEARN MORE…
